Two women have been arrested from the Ganeshguri area in Guwahati for allegedly robbing a tourist at knifepoint.
The accused have been identified as Sangeeta Nath and Shivani Ram. According to police sources, the duo targeted a tourist identified as Vignesh Kumar, a resident of Puducherry.
Vignesh Kumar lodged a complaint stating that he was threatened at knifepoint and forced to transfer money online to the accused. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police launched an operation and successfully apprehended the two women involved in the incident.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
