Celebrities Gather at Khan Residence to Pay Their Last Respects as the Film Fraternity Remembers Her Grace and Legacy
Veteran actor and filmmaker Sanjay Khan’s wife, Zarine Khan, passed away on Tuesday morning at her residence in Mumbai. She was 81 years old. Known for her elegance, warm personality, and dignified presence, Zarine was a deeply respected figure in Bollywood’s social circles. Her passing has left her family and the industry heartbroken, with several celebrities gathering to mourn her loss.
Bollywood Celebrities Arrive to Pay Tributes
Soon after the news broke, the Khan residence witnessed a steady stream of well-wishers from the film fraternity.
Among the earliest to arrive were Neelam, Rakul Preet Singh, and Jackky Bhagnani, who came to offer condolences to the grieving family.
Saba Azad, Hrithik Roshan’s girlfriend, was seen entering with Hrithik’s cousin Pashmina Roshan.
Jaya Bachchan, accompanied by her daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda, also visited to show their support during the difficult time.
Actor Jackie Shroff, known for his humble nature, requested photographers to maintain calm and respect the solemn atmosphere. Bobby Deol was also spotted paying his respects.
Adding to the list of attendees, actor Aly Goni, brother of Sussanne Khan’s partner Arslan Goni, arrived with actress Jasmin Bhasin. Seema Sajdeh, a close friend of Sussanne, was seen visibly emotional as she paid homage to Zarine.
Zarine Khan’s Early Bollywood Journey
Before becoming a celebrated social personality, Zarine Khan had a brief yet memorable stint in Hindi cinema.
She played Jenny Fernandes, the secretary, in Dev Anand’s 1963 classic “Tere Ghar Ke Saamne”, marking her presence during the golden era of Bollywood.
Apart from films, Zarine was also an accomplished writer. She authored the popular cookbook “Family Secrets: The Khan Family Cookbook”, giving readers an intimate glance into the Khan family’s culinary traditions and treasured recipes.
A Family in Mourning
Zarine Khan is survived by her husband Sanjay Khan and their four children — Sussanne Khan, Farah Khan Ali, Simone Arora, and actor Zayed Khan.
