Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 is a sequel that sees the return of Kapil Sharma on the big screen. It is directed by Anukalp Goswami, and it uses the same premise that had made the 2015 film a hit. In fact, the film takes the premise further by including more characters and more intense situations. Though the natural charm of Kapil Sharma is the major strength of the film, the sequel finds it difficult to contribute anything new to the film.

The plot centers around Mohan Sharma, played by Kapil Sharma, a man whose life spirals out of control when his decisions, as well as circumstances, lead him to marry multiple women. He already has three wives, each from a different religion, named Meera, Ruhi, and Jennie, with each of them having their own set of expectations and a need for emotional fulfillment.

His life has become a challenge, with his days being a struggle to keep all his wives happy by keeping the truth hidden, ensuring peace in all his households with a concocted reality.

The various daughters of Mohan make attempts to make all his wives understand his circumstances, but nobody seems to listen to them because they know that if all his wives

Complications increase as Saniya, who is Mohan’s true love, reenters his life. Still in love with her, Mohan decides to marry her regardless of the mess he is in already. The fashion in which he tries to correct his life makes things worse in a manner that the proposal of a fourth wedding becomes the key catalyzer of the events that will take place.

The plot acquires further momentum with the addition of Inspector David D.Costa, who is investigating a strange man with three wives of his previous marriages. His investigations accidentally land up in Mohan’s life, leading to comedic situations of mistaken identities and chases. The latter half of the film relies heavily on slapstick comedy, with situations intended to increase the confusions instead of ironing them out. Though some of them have been effective, most of them appear to have become repetitive.

The director Anukalp Goswami maintains the level of humor being clean and family-oriented. There are moments that truly go beyond being funny, especially those that come from situational humor instead ofdialogues. The film is very much like the first part in terms of character and does not add any new elements to make it more interesting as a sequel. It instead repackages the same concept with very little change. The lack of something new becomes apparent towards the finish.

Kapil Sharma displays evident development as a performer and copes better with emotional situations compared to before. He also gets a chance to display his singing and dancing skills, which are beneficial for his presence on screen. Still, he is most comfortable while responding to silly situations or making impromptu one-liners. Tridha Choudhary is the most confident out of the three wives and portrays a sense of calm in her act. Ayesha Khan leaves a good impact and performs considerably well. Parul Gulati performs well despite limited screen time.

Hira Warina as Saniya struggles a bit with matching tonality in this movie. Her overacted dialogue and expressions also tend to hamper the pace and timing on occasions. However, Manjot Singh as Hubby, a childhood friend of Mohan, performs extremely well and thus gives a host of comic inputs in this movie. The appearance by senior actor Asrani also adds a bit to this movie as he commands immediate attention.

The music album fails to make a lasting impression apart from the song “Phurr”, which adds to the fun atmosphere required by the film. The other songs tend to lack significance to the storyline and can easily be overlooked. On the whole, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is a light-hearted time pass film that targets the fans of Kapil Sharma. Although the film delivers momentary laughs and comfort, it lacks originality. The film is an entertaining one, but it is no more than an already processed copy of the first installment.
