Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 continues its unstoppable run at the box office, crossing the Rs 160 crore mark in India within just three days of release. The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 55.25 crore on Saturday, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 163.1 crore.
On Saturday, the film collected Rs 14.5 crore in Kannada and Rs 11.75 crore in Telugu. The Hindi version grossed Rs 19 crore, while the Tamil and Malayalam versions earned Rs 5.75 crore and Rs 4.25 crore, respectively, marking an overall growth of 20.11%.
Occupancy rates were exceptional across all South Indian languages. In Kannada, occupancy peaked above 93%, while the Telugu version rose from 36.71% in the morning to 87.71% by night. The Malayalam version increased from 34.40% to 80.50%, and the Tamil version surged from 37.43% in the morning to 92.50% in night shows.
Kantara: Chapter 1 has already emerged as the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2025, with early trade estimates indicating that the film has surpassed Rs 215 crore worldwide.
The film’s strong performance underscores its pan-India appeal and positions it as one of the biggest successes for Kannada cinema this year.
