It’s been 25 long days since Assam lost its beloved son and legendary singer Zubeen Garg. The pain for his family and fans is still raw. For his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, the days since his passing have been an endless wait for answers.
Today, she took to Facebook, demanding justice for her late husband, within the next 10 days.
Her post comes at a time when a 9-member SIT is intensely investigating the case.
In another emotional post on Sunday night, she posted a photo of Zubeen Garg and wrote, “Like a phoenix I rise from the ashes… A new Judgement day??” reflecting her determination to rise from grief and her belief that a moment of truth is near.
Zubeen Garg, one of Assam’s most celebrated cultural icons, passed away on September 19 in Singapore, reportedly while swimming during his visit to the North East India Festival. After four days of mourning, the beloved artist was laid to rest with full state honours at Kamarkuchi, Sonapur, on September 23.

Zubeen’s death left a void that words can barely fill. His music, once a symbol of hope and rebellion, now plays like an ache in the hearts of those who loved him.
So far 5 persons-DSP Sandipan Garg, cousin of Zubeen Garg, Shyamkanu Mahanta, organiser of the North East India Festival (NEIF) and Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma, drummer Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, and singer Amritprava Mahanta have been arrested in connection with the case.
The ongoing probe has gripped the state, as fans and followers continue to seek answers over the sudden loss of Assam’s most loved son.
