Aditya Dhar spy thriller dhurandhar enters the Rs 1,000 crore club in just 21 days, surpassing lifetime business of ‘Kantara Chapter 1′ giving healthy ending to an incredible year for Hindi films.
This Aditya Dhar directional venture has breached the magical figure of Rs 1,000 crore on the international box office in just 21 days of its release. The venture has now become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025 beating the international lifetime collection of ‘Kantara Chapter 1’.
If figures released in a press release are to be believed, Dhurandhar is earning 668.80 crores nett in India and 1,006.7 crores in total worldwide. Kantara Chapter 1, which was helmed by Rishab Shetty and had released earlier, had earned 850 crores globally.
The Ranveer Singh-starrer was pretty upbeat in its third week, marking a decent footfall on the 21st day. As the film entered its 21-day run in the theatres, Dhurandhar minted Rs 26 crores nett in India, nearly matching what the film collected on its first day, Rs 28.6 crores. Its total national collection, therefore, rose to Rs 668.80 crores nett.
Industry analysts noted that the performance of the film in its third week was beyond expectations, particularly at a juncture when box office collections are known to slacken. Dhurandhar, with their Day 21 collections, has strengthened their position in the ranks of the fastest Indian films to cross the Rs 1,000 cr-mark.
The movie collected a staggering Rs 944 crores within the first 20 days of its global release.
Dhurandhar has played an important role in making the box office stories in 2025. It depicts only the second Hindi release to rule both the box office tables, apart from Chhaava in 2025. While Chhaava, the Vicky Kaushal starrer, marked the beginning of the height of achievements in 2025 and set records, Dhurandhar marks a promising end to the year with renewed optimism in the world of Hindi cinema.
Trade analysts have pointed out various reasons for the success of the film, which range from mass appeal and good buzz to its continued run in different regions. Also, it’s a spy thriller accompanied by a star cast that has allowed it to continue making good business despite crossing its opening weekend.
Dhurandhar is helmed by Aditya Dhar, where a huge ensemble cast comprises Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, Saumya Tandon, Danish Pandor, and Sara Arjun. This huge star cast of the movie created quite a stir among the public before its release and still brings in huge masses towards the cinema. And the team behind this film has already announced that there will be a sequel, and ‘Dhurandhar Part Two’ is all set for release on 19th March 2026.
The second part will soon be seen in March 19th 2026 in five different languages across the globe. Thus, with its record-breaking performance, Dhurandhar has established itself as one of the most successful Indian films of 2025.
