Flight operations were halted when Flight services in the national capital of Delhi and other regions in Northern India could experience disruptions due to dense fog,
leading airlines such as AirIndia and Indigo to issue flight advisories on Thursday morning.Spice Jet, Air India, and IndiGo had informed passengers that flights may be impacted as the visibility had dropped significantly in the national capital and the surrounding areas. Passengers are requested to check the flight status before proceeding to the airport.
In a post on X, the official Twitter handle of the airline, SpiceJet stated that the dense fog in Delhi may have a certain effect on all movements of the flights.Air India has also put out an alert regarding the potential poor visibility expected in the coming days. The airline has stated that flights at the primary operating airport in Delhi, as well as some other airports in the northern and eastern parts of India, might be affected.
Moreover, assistance would be provided round the clock to facilitate different travel plans.As part of its FogCare program, Air India stated that passengers who may be facing delays would be sent notifications of these delays in advance via their mobile phones.
Air India also offers passengers the chance to re-route their flights for free or refund their flights in their entirety if their flights are delayed because of fog.IndiGo, also has issued an alert regarding low visibility in Chandigarh.
IndiGo stated that due to safety reasons, some flights are being cancelled throughout the day.Earlier, a notification was received from the Delhi Airport regarding the implementation of the Low Visibility Procedures, advising travelers to stay connected with their respective airlines for any updates. Then, there was an advisory regarding the continuation of flight operations even with CAT III conditions, which may result in delays.
