‘Moiu Zubeen, Amio Zubeen’ — BJP Announces Week-Long Tribute Celebrating the Legacy of Zubeen Garg
In a tribute to Assam’s beloved son and iconic singer Zubeen Garg’s enduring legacy, the Assam BJP will organise a week-long program across the state, titled ‘Moi U Zubeen, Amio Zubeen’, starting October 23.
The program will be observed in all 30 districts of the state.
During the tribute program, the BJP will launch a statewide campaign demanding a thorough investigation, a solid chargesheet by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), a trial in a fast-track court, and the appointment of a special public prosecutor to ensure justice for Zubeen.
During the campaign, 10,000 people will hold a peace rally in 30 districts of the state.
In the first week of November, preparations will begin to install Zubeen’s statue and music schools in 126 assembly constituencies.
Along with this, a sapling of Zubin’s favourite Nahar tree will be planted at each location. Five thousand artists are set to perform Zubeen’s songs during the week-long tribute program.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Once the SIT files a chargesheet and submits it to the court, the process may take time. However, the people of Assam want justice at the earliest. Therefore, the BJP has decided to launch a campaign from October 23 demanding a trial in a fast-track court, the appointment of a special public prosecutor to ensure justice for Zubeen, and the filing of a watertight chargesheet.”
“Additionally, Zubeen Garg’s statue will be installed in all constituencies represented by BJP MLAs, and a sapling of the Nahar tree will be planted in the homes of all BJP members,” said the Chief Minister.
