On the eve of India’s 79th Independence Day, the ICFAI University, Tripura, turned Kamalghat into a sea of saffron, white, and green by organizing a grand Tiranga Rally under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
Students, faculty, and staff carried a 650-feet-long tricolour on their shoulders, symbolizing unity, pride, and national integrity. The rally was flagged off from the university campus and passed through NH108B, Kamalghat Bridge, Kamalghat Market, and Fatickcherra Chowmuhai, before returning to campus. The participants marched in unison, chanting patriotic slogans and singing national songs, filling the air with energy and patriotic fervour.
The event was jointly inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Biplab Halder, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University Tripura, and Padma Dipa Karmakar, celebrated gymnast and the university’s brand ambassador.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Halder said, “The Tiranga is a symbol of our unity, diversity, and sovereignty. Carrying it together signifies our collective responsibility to uphold the values of democracy, freedom, and integrity.” He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to quality education, while nurturing values of service, integrity, and nation-building.
The rally concluded with participants taking a pledge to uphold democratic values, contribute to national progress, and work for a brighter, stronger India. The university also extended gratitude to the Lefunga Police Station for their support in ensuring the rally’s smooth and successful execution.
